Ashkenazi Charoseth

This is the most traditional charoset. Its signature ingredients are apples, walnuts, cinnamon, honey and sweet Manischewitz wine. Classic Ashkenazi Charoset Recipe Towel

Makes approximately 4 cups

Ingredients

  • 2 medium-sized apples
  • ½ cup walnuts, chopped
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tsp sweet red Kosher wine, such as Manischewitz
  • 1 tbsp sugar or honey or to taste

Instructions

  1. Peel, core and finely chop or grate the apples.
  2. Mix with the rest of the ingredients in a bowl and serve.
